I think it’s more of a “tweens” novel about growing up, facing change, and taking a stand. Set on the Great Lakes, the story takes Kesh Jones and his friends into the world of Ojibwa and woodland myth where they discover there is more to them than they ever could have imagined. It’s a cool story.

Prompt #109

Animals have been part of my life since I was an infant. Write a narrative, true or not, about an animal that touched you.

Prompt #108 – Things in Love

Write a scene in which two or more inanimate objects are in love., or in which one suffers from unrequited love for something or someone else.

Prompt #107 – Out of Character

Write something that is unlike you. If you’ve never written a play, write a play. Write a grant, a limerick, a short story, or whatever else is completely out of your experience. Or, if you write steamy romances, write a bloody murder story. If you write haikus, write something long and detailed.

Prompt #106 – Keeping in Touch

September 13, 2012

I have a thing about losing people. That is, when I lose touch with someone I value I get a rash, have nightmares, and generally feel out of sorts. Think about those people you’ve lost over the years and write a letter to one or more of them. It doesn’t matter what you say, and you may not even send the note to the person. Then again, you just might.

Prompt #105 The daily purge

The Daily Purge: End your day with a ten minute free-write in which you consciously let go of the day’s stress.

Prompt #104

I’m back. I’ll jump in here from time to time. For now, here is a simple prompt to get me back in the mood:
“i still wonder what might have happened if . . .”

Just thought you should know . . .

Okay, so I’ve been a little lax with the prompts. The prompts are inevitably the result of my current writing. When I finish a piece these days I post a prompt that is related in some way. So, for each of these prompts there is a story in the background.  Eventually, I’ll post all my stories, poems, and such along with the prompts. I’d also love to post your stories, so send them in.

Prompt #103

Oooh, Scary!

Everybody thought the old place was haunted. . .

Prompt #102
